My favorite song is by Phil Collins, Paradise. It’s an older song and I have known it for a very long time. I love to listen to the lyrics and picture what is really going on in the song, at the same time it makes me think of all the little situations that we try to just ignore and pretend that it is not even there. Some of us that are lucky to have most of the things we want ignore the people or just don’t even want to think about the less fortunate. Sometimes there are people out on the street that are begging and most people don’t help them out because you never know what they are really going to spend the money on, but there are really people out there who doesn’t have a better choice. Especially now days that the economy is unstable and so many people are losing their jobs. Sometimes even 5 dollars will help someone out a lot. Well anyway, the song for me has a deep meaning and it is a good song. J Listen to it sometimes.

Zsofi, I really like your response to Lauren's assignment for the song. I have only a vague recollection of the actual song you've written about (melody and such), but remember being affected by it. What I like about your description is that you go beyond the song's lyrics to speak about your own experience and what you see and feel. You describe your long relationship with the song. I agree that it is a matter of luck, and that it's in our nature to want to ignore the plight of people who are less fortunate than us. Your piece makes me want to do something for the homeless. I had been thinking that something to help homeless people is what I would like to do for my community involvement project. Good one, Zsofi.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of this song off the top of my head, but your going to need to play it for me sometime. I like how you put a deeper meaning behind it and really got into the song. I know what you mean about people begging and not getting help because a lot of people don't know what they're really going to do with the money. But truly anything can help them.
ReplyDeletehi, I liked your response because you wrote about the special connection you have with it you've described it nicely. Well, I would say that sometimes it is very difficult to trust in homeless because as you said before they would use the money you gave them to buy beer or maybe drugs. I think that if you want help a homeless you should give them food or clothes, but the most important things are not to ignore them or discriminate them because they have feelings likes everyone else. Well, you did a nice work.
ReplyDeleteThat is something I would of never known about you...but that is awesome...I do know the song and it is a good one..not many people like phil collins but i do enjoy a few of his songs as well..I like that it holds a deeper meaing for you than most songs...thats what is so awesome about music you can always use your own imagination as to what they might be actually talking about...and very true, most of us do take life for granted and forget about the little things...you don't know what you have untill you have lost it...and it is the little things that do matter:)...keep up the great work!
